Bethany will angrily accuse Larry of buying the TV, saying he didn’t even have money to fix the car.
Dec 21,2025
Bethany decided to go to Sharra’s house without telling Larry. 🚗💨
She told herself it was a simple visit—just to pick up Brooke and Destiny—but deep down, something else pushed her forward. A quiet suspicion lingered in her chest, the kind that refused to stay silent.
As soon as Bethany stepped into Sharra’s living room, her eyes stopped at one thing.
A brand-new television. 📺✨
It was large, sleek, and clearly expensive. The screen reflected the light in a way that instantly told her this wasn’t an old or second-hand purchase. Bethany’s heart skipped—not with excitement, but with doubt.
Why would Sharra suddenly buy a TV like this? she thought.
Her mind immediately traveled back to the email she had accidentally seen a few days ago. A receipt.
$457.96 💳
An expensive purchase Larry had never mentioned.
Bethany forced a smile, keeping her thoughts hidden behind polite conversation. Brooke and Destiny came out with their bags, and soon they were on their way home. But the image of that television burned into Bethany’s mind the entire drive. 🔥
That evening, Bethany walked into the house and found Larry sitting quietly on the couch. She placed her bag down slowly and stood in front of him, arms crossed.
“Larry,” she said calmly, though her voice carried an edge, “I went to Sharra’s house today.”
Larry looked up, surprised. “You… went there? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Bethany ignored the question.
“I saw something interesting,” she continued. “A new TV. A very expensive one.” 📺
Larry’s face stiffened.
Bethany leaned closer. “You bought that TV, didn’t you?”
Larry swallowed hard. “Bethany—”
“Don’t lie to me,” she snapped. “I saw the email. The one with the $457 charge. You bought something expensive, and now suddenly Sharra has a new TV?” 🤨
Larry fell silent.
That silence was louder than any confession.
Bethany’s eyes widened, her voice rising with each word. “So it’s true. You did buy it. You gave Sharra a TV behind my back!”
Larry rubbed his temples, his breathing growing heavier. Stress crept into his expression like a shadow. 😰
How does she know this much? he thought. How did it get this far?
Bethany paced the room angrily.
“You didn’t even have money to fix your watch,” she shouted. ⌚
“You told me we had to wait! And yet somehow you found hundreds of dollars for a television?”
She stopped in front of him, her eyes blazing. “I’m sure of it. You bought that TV for her.”
Larry finally stood up.
“No,” he said firmly. “That’s not the truth.”
Bethany laughed bitterly. “Then explain it. Explain everything. Right now.”
Larry took a deep breath and spoke slowly, choosing each word carefully.
“Yes,” he admitted, “I bought the TV.”
Bethany’s face tightened. “I knew it.”
“But not for Sharra,” he continued.
Bethany froze.
Larry met her eyes. “It wasn’t for Sharra. It was for Brooke.”
“What?” Bethany whispered.
Larry’s voice softened. “Every time Brooke goes to her mom’s house, there’s no television there. She sits quietly, bored, feeling left out. I noticed it. I didn’t say anything, but it bothered me.” 💔
Bethany’s anger faltered, replaced by confusion.
“So I bought the TV,” Larry said. “Yes, I gave it to Sharra—but it wasn’t for her. It was so Brooke could have something when she stays there.”
He sighed deeply. “I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d misunderstand.”
Bethany stared at him, emotions clashing inside her—anger, doubt, guilt, and lingering suspicion. 😶
“You should have told me,” she said quietly.
“Maybe,” Larry replied. “But I didn’t do anything wrong. I did it for my daughter.”
The room fell silent.
Bethany looked away, still unsure what to believe. The truth had been spoken, but trust—once shaken—did not return easily.
And even though Larry had explained himself, the seed of doubt Bethany had planted in her own heart refused to disappear completely. 🌑
