Bethany vs. Lynette — The Montana Conflict Begins

🔥 An emotionally tense chapter with dialogues and intensity

Larry had just poured himself a cup of coffee when Lynette stepped into the living room, her face stern, her tone sharper than usual. The morning light filtered through the curtains, but her expression carried enough tension to dim it.

“Dad,” she began, arms folded, “I need to talk to you about Montana.”

Larry raised a brow, already sensing where this conversation was headed. “What about it?”

Lynette took a breath. “When you go meet Isaiah for the baby’s birth… don’t take Bethany with you.

Larry froze for a moment, surprised but not completely shocked. The silence stretched between them, heavy and uncomfortable.

“Lynette…” he said slowly, “why?”

Lynette’s eyes tightened. “You know why. Ever since the arguments began, everything has been chaos. She instigates things, she stirs up drama, and I don’t want stress in Montana. Isaiah and Brooke need peace right now—not another storm.”

Larry sighed deeply, rubbing the back of his neck. He knew Lynette had a point, even if it stung. The atmosphere in the house had indeed been explosive lately—arguments, suspicions, accusations. It was exhausting.

“I just want Isaiah’s baby to enter a calm world,” Lynette whispered, voice softening. “This moment is important.”

Larry nodded slowly. “Alright. I’ll go to Montana alone.”

But he also knew one thing with certainty… Bethany was not going to like this.

Later that evening, Bethany walked into the kitchen with her usual energy, unaware of the storm waiting for her.

Larry cleared his throat. “Bethany… I need to talk to you.”

Her smile faded instantly. “You sound serious. What happened?”

Larry took a steady breath. “I’m going to Montana for the baby’s delivery… but—” He hesitated. “You’re not coming with me.”

Bethany blinked, stunned. “What? Why not?”

“Lynette asked me not to take you,” he admitted, voice gentle but firm.

Bethany stared at him as if the words physically hit her. She stepped closer. “Larry… I have to go. I’m your wife. This is a family moment. How can I stay behind?”

Larry swallowed hard. “I know, Bethany. But things have been tense lately. Too tense. Lynnette thinks it would be better if—”

Bethany cut him off, frustration flaring in her eyes. “So now Lynette decides everything? I’m just supposed to sit here and watch you fly without me? No. I’m coming, Larry. I’m not staying home while my family is together.”

Larry shook his head. “Bethany, please understand. I just want peace. I don’t want any scenes there.”

Bethany’s voice trembled. “You think I will create a scene? Really? After everything I’ve done for this family?”

Larry reached for her hand, but she pulled away.

He exhaled slowly. “I’m going alone. That’s final.”

Bethany’s chest rose and fell as emotions fought within her—anger, hurt, disbelief.

“You’re choosing Lynette’s words over your wife,” she murmured, eyes glassy. “Unbelievable.”

Larry didn’t respond. He simply looked at her with sadness before walking away to pack.

The following morning was emotionally heavier than any storm outside. Larry placed his suitcase near the door, zipped up and ready. Bethany stood beside him, arms crossed tightly, refusing to accept the decision.

“You’re making a mistake, Larry,” she said, voice shaking. “If you go without me, I’ll follow you. I won’t stay back.”

Larry’s jaw clenched. “Bethany…”

“No,” she snapped, stepping closer. “Either we go together, or none of us goes. I’m your partner. I belong by your side.”

He looked into her eyes—hurt, stubbornness, love all mixed together.

“I need to do this quietly,” Larry said softly. “This moment is about Isaiah. About becoming a grandfather… not about arguments. Please don’t make this harder.”

Bethany’s breath trembled. “I’m not the problem, Larry. The problem is everyone trying to isolate me.”

Larry gently placed a hand on her cheek, voice breaking. “I’m not isolating you. I just want peace. For once.”

But Bethany wasn’t ready to surrender.

She grabbed her purse with determination. “If you walk out that door alone, I’m coming after you. I don’t care if I have to drive behind you all night. I will be there.”

Larry knew she meant every word. But he also knew he had made his decision.

“I love you, Bethany,” he whispered, eyes heavy. “But I need space from this chaos. Just for a while.”

Bethany’s heart cracked. 💔

Larry opened the door, suitcase in hand. Without looking back—because looking would weaken him—he stepped outside.

The sound of the door closing felt like thunder in the silence.

Bethany stood frozen for a moment… then anger rose like fire.

She rushed to the window, watching Larry load his truck, determination burning in her eyes.

“You think you can leave me behind?” she muttered. “Watch me.”

Larry started the engine and pulled away, heading toward Montana—alone.

Bethany grabbed her phone, her keys, and her coat.

“I’m coming, Larry,” she whispered fiercely. “One way or another.”

And so the chase began.

Montana awaited.
So did tension.
And fate was not finished with this family yet. ✨
