Lynette attacks Bethany when she tries to go to Montana
Dec 27,2025
The hospital room still smelled like antiseptic and fresh coffee when Bethany swung her legs off the bed. Sunlight slipped through the blinds, cutting thin gold lines across the floor. She was tired, sore, and emotionally drained—but her eyes were sharp with purpose.
“I’m leaving today,” she said, breaking the silence.
Larry looked up from his phone. “Leaving… where?”
“Montana.” Bethany reached for her jacket. “The baby’s coming. My grandbaby.”
Larry sighed, the kind of sigh that already carried an argument inside it. “Bethany, Lynette is the mother. You don’t need to rush out there like you’re more of a grandma than she is.”
Bethany froze. Slowly, she turned. “Excuse me?”
“I’m just saying,” Larry continued, standing now, “don’t overstep. Let Lynette handle her moment.”
Bethany laughed, but there was no humor in it. “Overstep? Larry, when it comes to that baby, I’ll do what I need to do. Period.”
“That’s exactly what I mean,” he shot back. “You don’t listen.”
Bethany grabbed her bag. “And you don’t know when to stop talking.”
Montana welcomed them with cold air and tension thick enough to choke on. The house was quiet when Bethany walked in, but it didn’t stay that way for long.
Lynette stood near the kitchen counter, arms crossed, eyes already blazing. “What is she doing here?” she snapped, looking straight at Larry.
Bethany didn’t flinch. “I came for the baby.”
Lynette scoffed. “You didn’t ask me.”
Bethany stepped forward. “I don’t need permission to love my grandchild.”
That was it.
Lynette moved fast—too fast. She lunged, grabbing a fistful of Bethany’s hair.
“You will NOT push me aside!” Lynette screamed.
“Lynette! Stop!” Larry shouted, rushing between them.
Bethany cried out, pain flashing across her face as she pulled back. “Get your hands off me!”
They stumbled, knocking over a chair. The room erupted in chaos—voices overlapping, emotions spilling everywhere.
“You think you run everything!” Lynette yelled. “This is MY baby!”
“And I’m the grandmother!” Bethany yelled back. “I will not disappear!”
Larry finally wedged himself between them, breathing hard. “Enough! Both of you—ENOUGH!”
Silence slammed down.
Bethany adjusted her hair, her hands shaking but her voice steady. “I said I was coming in peace.”
Lynette laughed bitterly. “You always say that.”
“And it never happens,” Larry muttered.
Bethany looked at him, eyes burning. “Because you never draw a line.”
Larry had no response.
Outside, a car engine hummed in the distance. Life moved on, indifferent to their drama. Inside, everyone stood still, knowing one thing was certain—
This wasn’t over.
Montana had only just begun.
