Bethany complains to Larry about Lynette and tells him that Lynette is trying to pick a fight with her for no reason.

Bethany paced back and forth in the living room, her phone pressed tightly against her ear. 😀 “Larry… I don’t know what to do anymore. Lynette is just… she’s trying to pick a fight with me for no reason!” she vented, her voice a mixture of frustration and disbelief.

Larry, sitting calmly on the couch, rubbed his temples. He had anticipated some tension, but seeing Bethany this stressed made him sigh. “Beth… I told you, Lynette can be a bit of a mama bear sometimes. She’s protective, stubborn, and… well… sometimes a little too intense. But if she’s bothering you, you need to stay calm and not let her get a reaction out of you.” 🐻

Bethany threw her hands in the air. “Calm? Larry, she walked into the room and started making these little jabs at me. I swear she’s just looking for any excuse to start something. I don’t even understand why!” πŸ˜“

Larry leaned back, studying her expression. “I get it, Beth. I really do. But sometimes people act this way because they want to see if you’ll respond. If you give them that energy, it’s exactly what they’re looking for.”

Bethany groaned. “I tried to ignore her, I really did. But every time I turn my back, she’s saying something under her breath, or giving me this look like, ‘Go ahead, try me.’ It’s exhausting!” 😩

Larry gave her a sympathetic smile. “Remember Christmas?” he asked. “You know, the one when there was tension with gifts and the whole awkward family situation?”

Bethany’s eyes widened. “Oh no… don’t even remind me. That was a nightmare.” 😬

“Exactly,” Larry continued, “this is exactly why you don’t go where you’re not invited, Beth. And maybe—just maybe—Lynette is giving you back a little of what you gave her back then. Karma has a way of showing up, whether we like it or not.” ⚡

Bethany paused, letting that sink in. “Wait… are you saying she’s… retaliating?” she asked, incredulous.

Larry shrugged. “Maybe. Or maybe she’s just being herself. But either way, you need to pick your battles wisely. She’s poking the bear, Bethany. And right now, she’s trying her best to start a fight.” 🐻πŸ”₯

Bethany ran her fingers through her hair, exasperated. “I don’t even want a fight! I just… I just want to be left alone. But every time I try to talk to Kailee or even stay neutral, Lynette thinks I’m being smart or sneaky. It’s like she’s on high alert, waiting for me to slip up.” 😢

“Exactly,” Larry said. “She’s a mama bear. That’s how she operates. She’s always looking for a reason to protect what she cares about—and sometimes, unfortunately, that means she can overreact or misinterpret things.” 🐾

Bethany shook her head. “I feel like she’s looking for a reason to send me on to glory, honestly. One wrong word, one glance, and boom… it’s strike one.” 😳

Larry chuckled softly. “Yep. Strike one, Beth. And right now, she’s already started. But listen… don’t rise to it. Don’t give her that satisfaction. Just stay calm, stay polite, and don’t engage in her provocations.”

Bethany sank onto the couch next to him, letting out a long sigh. “I don’t know if I can keep my cool, Larry. She’s relentless. And every time I think I’ve gotten away, she’s right there again, trying to provoke me.” 😀

Larry gave her a reassuring smile. “Beth, think of it like this: Big Bertha isn’t backing down either. She’s standing her ground. And you? You’re smarter than engaging in petty fights. Let Lynette think she’s stirring something up while you just… stay above it. Trust me, it’ll frustrate her more if she can’t get a reaction out of you.” 😏

Bethany cracked a small smile. “So basically… I just have to play it cool, let her make the first move, and not give her the satisfaction?”

“Exactly,” Larry said, nodding. “She might have won a small battle, like Christmas back then, or strike one today… but the war? That’s in your favor if you handle it right. Stay professional, stay calm, and don’t give her the fuel she’s looking for. She’s poking the bear, Beth. Let her poke. You just… don’t bite.” 🐻

Bethany laughed quietly, the tension in her shoulders easing slightly. “Okay… I think I can do that. I just hope she doesn’t push me too far.”

Larry winked. “If she does… you know what to do. Calm, collected, unbothered. Let her be the dramatic one. You handle yourself like a queen.” πŸ‘‘

Bethany nodded, feeling a renewed sense of confidence. “Alright… Strike one, Lynette. Noted. But Bethany isn’t losing her cool today.” πŸ’ͺ

Larry smiled, proud. “That’s my girl. Now go get yourself some water, take a deep breath, and remember… no matter what Lynette does, you’re in control of your reaction. That’s real power.” ✨

And with that, Bethany felt a little lighter, a little stronger, ready to face whatever Lynette might throw at her next. Because at the end of the day, she knew… she wasn’t going to be anyone’s easy target. 😎
