Jaden will call Bethany: “You’re fighting Brooke over Montana. Now no one can go there because of you.”
Jan 28,2026
Rain pelted against the windows as Bethany perched on the edge of the couch, her phone shaking in her hands.
BETHANY: Hello?
JADEN (V.O.): How could you put your hands on Brooke?
Bethany froze, her chest tightening like a vice.
BETHANY: I—I didn’t…
JADEN (V.O.): It doesn’t matter. You crossed a line. One you should’ve never touched.
Her grip on the phone tightened as the storm outside intensified.
BETHANY: I was defending myself…
JADEN (V.O.): Defending yourself from what? Words? A misunderstanding?
BETHANY: Please… she provoked me.
JADEN (V.O.): I don’t want to hear excuses.
Silence hung heavy. Bethany’s breaths came in shallow, uneven gasps.
JADEN (V.O.): You’re not coming to Montana.
The words hit her like a punch.
BETHANY: Montana… what?
JADEN (V.O.): Not until this is settled.
BETHANY: You can’t just decide that! Montana was my plan!
JADEN (V.O.): And you can’t put your hands on someone. Respect has limits.
Tears blurred her vision. Shame collided with anger, leaving her raw and exposed.
BETHANY: So I’m just supposed to stay here?
JADEN (V.O.): Until you learn control. Yes.
Bethany stared out the rain-streaked window, her reflection fragmented and trembling.
BETHANY: And Brooke… she just walks away?
JADEN (V.O.): She did nothing wrong.
Her phone buzzed. A message from Brooke appeared: “Are you okay?”
Bethany’s fingers hovered over the screen, the storm outside matching the storm inside her.
