Lynette calls Larry, saying Bethany is forcing him to go to Montana. She advises him not to go with her.”

Larry sits on the edge of his bed, phone in hand, frowning. The room is silent except for the faint hum of the city outside. He takes a deep breath, trying to make sense of the chaos.

Bethany (on call, excited but insistent):

“Larry, you have to come to Montana with me. I mean it. You can’t just say no. 🙄”

Larry (hesitant, conflicted):

“Bethany… I don’t think I can. I’m not sure this is a good idea. 😔”

Bethany (pushing, voice rising slightly):

“Larry! I will go if you go! You can’t just stand there and say no. Come on, you know it’ll be fine. You promised me we’d handle this together!” 😤

Larry (running his hands through his hair, stressed):

“Bethany, I… I really don’t want to cause trouble. I’m just saying maybe this isn’t the right time…”

Before Bethany can respond, Larry’s phone rings. The caller ID flashes: Lynette. He hesitates, then answers.

Lynette (firm, no-nonsense tone):

“Larry, listen carefully. If Bethany is coming with you, don’t go. You cannot go to Montana with her. 🚫”

Larry (stammering, confused):

“Lynette… I… wait, what? But she’s… she’s expecting me…”

Lynette (cutting him off):

“Larry, this isn’t a suggestion. I’m serious. If Bethany comes, you cannot go. Do you understand me?” 😡

Larry (anxious, muttering to himself):

“Oh no… what am I supposed to do now? How do I tell Bethany I’m not going because of Lynette? 😩”

He ends the call, staring blankly at the wall. His mind races, imagining the confrontation ahead.

Larry (thinking aloud, panicked):

“She’s going to be furious. She’s going to feel betrayed… and maybe she’ll even threaten divorce. How do I explain this without starting a war? 😰”

He takes another deep breath and dials Bethany’s number. When she picks up, she sounds cheerful, unaware of his turmoil.

Bethany (cheerful, teasing):

“Larry! Are you ready for Montana? I told you it’s going to be amazing if we go together! 😎”

Larry (hesitant, careful):

“Bethany… I… I need to tell you something important. I… I can’t go to Montana with you.”

Bethany (confused, alarmed):

“What? Why? 😳 We planned this! You promised!”

Larry (trying to stay calm, struggling):

“It’s not because I don’t want to. It’s… it’s complicated. I… I have reasons I can’t ignore.”

Bethany (growing angry, voice rising):

“Reasons? Larry, you always have reasons! Are you saying I’m not allowed to go? Are you trying to control me?!” 😡

Larry (panicking, fumbling for words):

“No! That’s not it! I… I just… I need to explain, but I don’t want to make you upset. Please, just listen…”

Bethany (interrupting, accusatory):

“Listen? Listen to what? That you’re caving in to someone else? Larry, are you telling me you’re letting Lynette decide this for us? 😤”

Larry (swallowing hard, defeated):

“…Yes. Lynette called. She said if you come, I cannot go. I… I didn’t want to hurt you, but I also… I can’t ignore her.”

Silence on the line. Bethany’s breathing becomes sharp, heavy.

Bethany (voice shaking, furious):

“So… because of Lynette, you’re choosing not to come? After everything we planned? After everything I said?! Larry, this is betrayal! I… I can’t believe this! 😡💔”

Larry (guilt-ridden, desperate):

“Bethany, please, it’s not about you. I’m not choosing anyone over you. I just… I don’t know how to handle this without making things worse. I… I don’t want to fight. 😓”

Bethany (yelling, tears forming):

“Fight? Larry, this isn’t about fighting—it’s about respect! If you can’t stand up for us, then maybe I was wrong to think we were in this together. Maybe… maybe I need to rethink everything… even… divorce. 😢💔”

Larry puts the phone down, head in hands, breathing heavily. The weight of the moment crashes down on him. He realizes he’s trapped between loyalty, fear, and the looming threat of a major confrontation.

Larry (thinking, whispering to himself):

“What do I do now? How do I fix this without losing everything? How do I tell her I can’t go without losing her trust… without losing her? 😞”

The camera pans out. Larry sits in the dimly lit room, phone still warm in his hand, caught between two forces he cannot reconcile. The tension hangs thick in the air, unbroken, as the scene fades to black.
