“On Amber Dainelle’s words, she will fall into doubt and start investigating, and she will find Shayla and Anthony sitting together, so Shayla’s intentions will not be good.”
Jan 17,2026
When Dainelle finally spoke the words out loud, Amber felt something shift inside her.
“Amber,” Dainelle said quietly, her tone serious, “I don’t think Shayla ever stopped loving Anthony.”
Amber froze. “What?” she asked, forcing a small laugh. “That doesn’t make sense.”
“I wish I was wrong,” Dainelle continued. “But I’ve noticed the way Shayla looks at him. It’s not innocent. Be careful.”
Amber nodded, but her mind was already racing. Doubt crept in slowly, wrapping itself around her thoughts. She tried to push it away, telling herself she was overthinking—but the seed had been planted. 🌱
That evening, as Amber drove home, Dainelle’s words echoed in her head.
Shayla still loves Anthony.
When Amber opened the front door, the house was unusually quiet. She stepped inside, placing her keys on the table. As she walked toward the living room, she stopped suddenly.
Shayla and Anthony were sitting together on the sofa.
Too close.
Amber stood still, watching them for a moment. Anthony was laughing, completely unaware. Shayla, however, looked different. Her posture, her smile, the way her body leaned slightly toward him—it wasn’t harmless.
Amber’s heart tightened. 💔
“Hey,” Amber said, finally stepping forward.
Both of them turned.
“Oh, you’re home,” Anthony said casually. “We were just talking.”
Shayla smiled quickly. “Yeah, just chatting.”
Amber forced a polite smile, but her eyes stayed on Shayla. She could see it now—the intention behind the friendliness. Shayla’s eyes lingered too long. Her voice was softer than usual.
Dainelle was right, Amber thought.
She said nothing more and excused herself, heading to her room. But her mind was far from calm. Shayla’s presence near Anthony suddenly felt threatening. It wasn’t jealousy—it was instinct.
Later that night, Amber couldn’t stay silent anymore.
She found Shayla in the kitchen.
“Shayla,” Amber said calmly, “can we talk?”
Shayla looked surprised. “Sure. What’s wrong?”
Amber crossed her arms, maintaining control over her emotions. “I saw you and Anthony sitting together earlier.”
“So?” Shayla replied defensively. “We’re allowed to talk.”
“Yes,” Amber said firmly, “but I’m not blind.”
Shayla’s expression shifted. “What are you trying to say?”
“I’m saying your intentions aren’t clean,” Amber replied. “You still have feelings for him.”
Shayla scoffed. “That’s ridiculous.”
“Is it?” Amber asked, her voice steady but cold. “Because it doesn’t look that way.”
For a moment, Shayla said nothing. Then she smiled—a smile that made Amber uneasy.
“You’re imagining things,” Shayla said lightly.
Amber took a step closer. “Listen to me very carefully,” she warned. “Anthony is not yours. Whatever feelings you think you still have, you need to control them.”
Shayla’s tone hardened. “And who are you to tell me what to feel?”
“I’m the one protecting my relationship,” Amber replied without hesitation. “Stay away from Anthony.”
The tension between them filled the room. ⚡
“You’re overreacting,” Shayla muttered.
“No,” Amber said firmly. “I’m setting boundaries. And I expect you to respect them.”
Shayla looked away, clearly annoyed, but Amber could tell the warning had landed.
The next day, Amber spoke to Anthony.
“Anthony,” she said gently, “I need you to be careful around Shayla.”
Anthony frowned. “Why? Did something happen?”
Amber hesitated, then spoke honestly. “I don’t trust her intentions.”
Anthony sighed. “Amber, you’re the only one I care about.”
She nodded, but the uneasiness remained.
From that day on, Amber watched more closely. Shayla became distant, her friendliness replaced with cold silence. But Amber knew she had done the right thing.
Some warnings aren’t about control—they’re about protection. 🛑
And Amber was no longer willing to ignore her instincts.
