INT. BETHANY’S LIVING ROOM – DAY

Sunlight slips through the blinds, cutting the room into sharp ribbons of light and shadow. Bethany paces restlessly, her phone clenched in her hand like a lifeline. Her face is flushed, eyes blazing with frustration. Outside, the city hums quietly, but inside the room, the tension feels suffocating.

She stops suddenly and dials a number. The ringing echoes through the empty space.

BETHANY
(fuming, impatient)
“Come on… pick up. Pick up!”

The call finally connects. Bethany’s grip tightens.

SHARRA
(calm, composed)
“Hello?”

Bethany doesn’t hesitate.

BETHANY
(angry, loud)
“Sharra! You need to send Brooke and Destiny back home—right now!”

She slams her hand against the arm of the sofa, her heartbeat pounding in her ears.

SHARRA
(steady, defiant)
“Bethany… until Larry returns from Montana, neither Brooke nor Destiny is going anywhere.”

Bethany freezes. Disbelief flashes across her face, then instantly turns into rage.

BETHANY
(furious)
“What do you mean ‘not going anywhere’? I’m telling you—send them back. Now!”

Her breathing grows rapid, her entire body tight with anger.

SHARRA
(firm, unyielding)
“I meant exactly what I said. Larry isn’t here, and I’m standing my ground.”

Bethany tilts her head back, staring at the ceiling, her knuckles white around the phone.

BETHANY
(voice trembling)
“You’re being unreasonable! This is ridiculous!”

She storms toward the window, as if the streets outside might offer her an escape.

SHARRA
(calm, almost taunting)
“Careful, Bethany… I’m not backing down.”

Bethany stops pacing. Sharra’s resolve stuns her.

BETHANY
(desperate)
“You can’t do this! They need to come home!”

She throws the phone onto the sofa, then quickly snatches it back. Tears threaten to fall, but her voice remains sharp.

SHARRA
(final)
“Not until Larry comes back.”

Bethany exhales shakily, her voice dropping.

BETHANY
(softly)
“Larry… if only you were here…”

SHARRA
(cold, firm)
“Calm down, Bethany. There’s nothing you can do.”

BETHANY
(cold, determined)
“Fine. But when he gets back… this isn’t over.”

The call ends. Bethany slams the phone down.

INT. BETHANY’S LIVING ROOM – MOMENTS LATER

Bethany collapses onto the sofa, burying her face in her hands. The weight of everything presses heavily against her chest.

BETHANY
(soft, resolute)
“He’s coming back… and when he does… they’re coming home.”

Sunlight brushes across her face, and a spark of determination lights her eyes.

BETHANY
(to herself)
“This isn’t the end… not by far.”

INT. BETHANY’S LIVING ROOM – LATER

Her phone buzzes. A message lights up the screen.

SHARRA (TEXT)
“Larry will decide. Until then… patience.”

Bethany’s eyes widen. Rage surges back.

BETHANY
(angry whisper)
“Patience? I don’t have time for this.”

She begins pacing again, every step echoing with fury.

BETHANY
(emotional)
“I will not let this go.”

She finally sits, staring at the phone, her resolve unshaken.
