Bethany’s heart raced as she stared at her phone. 📱 It had been hours since she last heard from Larry, and every passing minute felt like an eternity. She had spent the entire morning anxiously pacing her room, replaying the last conversation they had and hoping that he would finally call back. And then—finally—it happened. Larry’s name lit up her screen. 💖

“Finally!” she whispered, almost breathless, as she snatched her phone. Her fingers trembled slightly as she swiped to answer.

“Hello?” she said, trying to keep her voice calm but failing.

“Beth… hey,” Larry’s voice was warm but hesitant, as if he’d been carrying the weight of the entire morning on his shoulders.

“You don’t even know how worried I’ve been!” Bethany blurted out, pacing back and forth. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you, and… I just—” Her voice cracked slightly.

Larry chuckled softly on the other end. “I know, Beth… I know. I was caught up with… well, things with Lynette. I didn’t mean to worry you.”

Bethany stopped pacing, planting her feet firmly on the floor. “Caught up with her? Larry, come on! 😤 I can’t even imagine you spending the whole morning with her while I’m sitting here waiting for you!” Her words were sharp, but there was a layer of vulnerability underneath.

“I didn’t want to cause a scene. You know that,” Larry replied, his voice soothing. “I thought it would be better if—”

Bethany cut him off, her voice softening but still urgent. “Larry, listen to me. I can’t… I can’t be without you. You need to come back to Atlanta. Now. Please.” 😢

There was a brief pause on the line. Bethany could hear his sigh, heavy and filled with regret. “Beth… I… I’ll be there. I promise. Just… give me a little time.”

She let out a shaky laugh, a mix of relief and exasperation. “A little time? Larry, you’ve been gone all morning! That’s more than enough time! 😅”

“I know, I know. I messed up,” he admitted, his tone sincere. “I just didn’t want to ruin your day by bringing drama into it. But I see now… I should have called sooner.”

Bethany felt a wave of emotions crash over her—frustration, relief, love, and longing all rolled into one. “Larry… I don’t care about the drama. I care about you. I can’t… I can’t stand being without you. You’re the only one who makes sense to me. The only one who… matters.” 💔

Larry’s voice softened, almost a whisper. “Beth… I hear you. I really do. And I’m on my way back. Just… hang on a little longer.”

Bethany’s heart leapt. “On your way? Already? Like… coming to Atlanta right now?” Her voice was filled with hope and excitement, a smile spreading across her face even though he couldn’t see it. 😍

“Yes. I’m leaving now,” Larry confirmed. “I don’t want to be away from you any longer. Not even for a second.”

Bethany laughed through her tears, a sound of sheer relief and happiness. “Good! Because I’ve been pacing the whole morning, staring at my phone, wondering if you’d ever call back. And now… now I feel like I can breathe again!”

“I’m so sorry, Beth. I never meant to make you feel that way,” Larry said earnestly. “I just… got distracted, and I realize now that nothing is more important than being with you.”

Bethany’s eyes softened, and she took a deep breath. “Larry… just… don’t ever let me feel that way again, okay? I can’t handle it. You’re everything to me.” 💕

“I won’t,” he promised, his voice unwavering. “I’ll be there soon. And when I get there… we’ll make up for all the lost time.”

Bethany grinned, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. “Good. Because I’ve got a whole list of things I want to do with you when you get back. And trust me… you’re not getting out of this conversation without making it up to me!” 😏

Larry laughed, a sound that made her heart flutter. “I’ll be ready. And I promise, Beth… no more long mornings apart. Not if I can help it.”

Bethany leaned back on her bed, phone still pressed to her ear, and let herself relax for the first time all morning. ❤️ The tension melted away, replaced with a sense of joy and anticipation. Atlanta would see Larry soon, and this time, nothing would keep them apart.

“See you soon, Larry,” she whispered, smiling through happy tears.

“See you soon, Beth,” he replied. “And this time… I won’t let anything come between us.” 🌟

Bethany hung up the phone, a sense of calm and excitement washing over her. Finally, after a morning of worry and frustration, she felt whole again. And in her heart, she knew that no matter what challenges came their way, she and Larry would always find their way back to each other. 💖
